Welcome to the Scribe's Point at Gulf Wars!
Once again we will be open for scroll painting and scribal classes. We will again be in our new location downown across from Falconry. Check out the Gulf Wars Map if you need directions.
Volunteer hours can be earned painting Kingdom award scrolls. Supplies will be available, and all skill levels are welcome!
This year's activities will also include a Scribal Gauntlet as we done last year. The Gauntlet will once again be a series of challenges to test your scribal skills. Some will be done on site at pre-determined times (like classes) but there are three challenges that can be completed at home and brought to War. They are: Best Early Period Inspired Scroll (Pre-1066AD), Best Medieval Inspired Scroll (1066-1450), and Best Late Period Inspired Scroll (1451AD-1600AD). Scrolls do not have to be direct copies, and the only documentation required is a single index card.
Official working hours are 9am to 9pm Monday through Friday. Feel free to come by, see the artists at work, and ask questions. Meet scribes from across the Known World, compare notes and share your portfolios. And don't forget the Scribe's Social on Wednesday night! The gift exchange for the Social this year will be based on the theme "My Hand made…" This can include custom paint colors, a custom turkey quill pens, a custom made brush set, or even custom made ink. Feel free to be creative.
If you would like to teach a class, hold a workshop, conduct a demonstration, etc. in Scribal at this year’s Gulf Wars you may complete a General Class/A&S event Submission Form* to help us schedule your class/activity. Be sure to select Scribal from the class location drop down list!
Before the war, the current Scribal Class Schedule can be viewed here:
At war, you can consult the on-site Class Booklet, or check in at Scribe’s Point to see what activities are scheduled for that day.
